Decorating with the Color of the Year

Pantone recently announced that its color of the year for 2019 is Living Coral, a soothing and vibrant shade of peach that will add a pop of color to any room that it’s used in. Typically thought of as a warm summer color, coral is anything but that and should not be reserved just for the warm months of summer.

If you’re looking to make a bold statement, incorporate coral with a larger piece of furniture, such as a couch, chair, or ottoman. In a room that consistently receives a fair amount of natural light, a coral piece of furniture can help make your space look brighter, larger, and more open.

Coral also looks great when it’s incorporated in a rug, and with winter upon us, a rug is the perfect way to add additional warmth to a room. You could also consider bringing coral to your window treatments or artwork, depending on your comfort level with this shade.

A less bold approach to incorporating coral into your home is with textiles, such as pillows or throw blankets for your living room or bedrooms. Textiles can be switched out seasonally or any time that you want to, so it’s the perfect way to keep your home updated and fresh.
