Add A Hint Of Yellow For Energy

Yellow is the color of happiness and warmth. The color alone can brighten a room both literally and figuratively, so it's an obvious color choice to incorporate into your home design.

Sunny yellow can work great in both small and large doses. It pairs well in bathrooms, offices, and living rooms, but where it works best is in the kitchen. A dining area or kitchen with numerous windows is a great space to add the vibrant color, as there's no better way to start your morning than in a positively bright room.

Yellow is a stand-alone color, which makes it perfect if you want to bring a jolt to a feature wall. Or, consider adding the bright color to your room in smaller doses, such as with accent pieces for a smaller touch of intensity. Paired with white accents, the combination allows for both colors to stand out and pop cohesively.

If you want to add additional bright colors to your room, starburst orange and turquoise are two energetic colors that pair beautifully with yellow, giving extra character and dimension to your space.

Why Mixing Neutrals Is Incredibly Easy

When it comes to designing your home with a mix of neutral colors, you can almost never go wrong with how you pair the colorings in your space. Whether you're going for a modern, traditional, or contemporay look, mixing neutrals works so well simply because they allow you to go any route with your design.

Using Neutrals As A Base

Having a neutral base gives you the opportunity to bring bright accessories into your room without making it feel incredibly overwhelming. The neutrals allow the bright colors to pop, but at the same time, they also keep them grounded. If you're more traditional, incorporate accent pieces in darker or lighter shades of your main neutrals, to truly give your space a calming energy.
