Designer Spotlight: Mark Brunetz

In 2000, while designing special events for Fortune 500 clients at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Mark Brunetz launched Mark Brunetz Design, an interior design firm spanning both coasts and covering nearly every style of décor.

Brunetz, who’s portfolio includes both residential and commercial properties, has a strong focus on functionality and aesthetics when it comes to his designs.

 

His taste, which is geared towards Contemporary American design, has landed him in People Magazine, ElleDecor.com, and Good Morning America, and most recently as the co-founder and spokesperson for Design for a Difference.

Colors of Summer

Summer has arrived, and it is here to stay. While we wish summer weather would last year round, it doesn't mean that summer decor can't. Tropical prints and patterns are great for decorating with during the summer season, but there's no reason why you can't keep the hot colors of this summer season in your home year round.

From sunny yellow, light blue, fresh lime, fire red, crisp orange and beachy coral, all of these colors are as hot as the sun when it comes to the trending summer colors. These colors can be used boldly like fire red on your walls, or in smaller doses, such as fresh lime on a lampshade or throw pillow.

Our favorite color for the summer matches the brightness of the sun, and just like the sun brightens our days, it also adds happiness to your room and a smile to your face. Make the sunny color pop by pairing it with neutrals or a deep blue. There are so many simple ways to bring the sunshine inside through the use of accent pieces such as throw pillows, knick nacks, or a piece of art.

A sunny yellow means a blue sky, and to go along with the summer theme, add a sense of serenity to any space with sky blue. From wall color to pillows, rugs, vases or drapes, this blue hue is fabulous for a room that you want to create a relaxing atmosphere in, such as a bedroom or a reading nook!

Spring is upon us, and before you know it summer will officially be here. A favorite decor style during this time of the year is to incorporate light blues, sea greens and beachy tans to your home interiors.
