Adding Color Without Paint

When it comes to bringing color into your room and home, the most common technique is to bring a fresh color to your walls. While painting is a relatively easy way to change the look of your room, there are many other ways in which you can bring a renewed feel and look to your interior simply by adding color without the use of paint.

Instead of going through the trouble of dedicating a weekend to painting your walls, consider the use of furniture or accent pieces to be your canvas for color.

In keeping with the idea of bringing color to your walls, adding a large piece of artwork that is vibrant with color can do just that. The painting will not only add character to your space, but it can also be used as a great focal and talking point in the room. Every year, we always seem to hear that in the design world there is a new color that emerges as the “new black.” With previous winners such as grey and matte black, the color plum is taking over the as the new color to be on the lookout for.

While blue is one of the trending colors for 2015, some designers are turning shades of blue into warmer tones of purple, more specifically, the rich and bold tone of plum.
