Fall is the ideal time to create a warm and inviting room, and all you have to do is swap your home’s summer colors and fabrics for the cozy colors and textures of fall. One way that we love to create a cozy space is by adding accent rugs to a room, especially in an area that has colder elements, such as exposed brick or metal.
If you have hard surface in your living room or bedrooms, an area rug is a great addition to bring warmth to your feet this fall and winter. If you have dark floors, consider a lighter rug for juxtaposition and remember that it can be used as the foundation for a large, open room that needs to be tied together.
Let your rug be the center of attention. If your furniture and walls are neutral, bring a patterned rug into your space for instant warmth and to prevent your space from falling flat. Always choose your rug first, and then decorate the rest of your room around the pattern or colors in your rug.
